When Compliance Documents Are Required

Compliance documents are often remembered when cargo is already being prepared for dispatch or is already at customs. Many goods cannot be imported, cleared, or sold without proof of compliance with EAEU technical regulations. It is better to check requirements before the shipment starts.

Tasks We Help Solve

  • Import of new products
  • Release of goods through customs
  • Sale of products in Kazakhstan
  • Passing inspections by control authorities
  • Supplies for marketplaces and retail chains
  • Documents We Prepare

Requirements differ significantly depending on the product category.

    Certificate of Conformity

For goods that require mandatory certification under EAEU technical regulations.

    Declaration of Conformity

An alternative form of conformity confirmation for several product categories.

    Exemption Letter

A document confirming that the product is not subject to mandatory certification.

    SGR

State registration certificate for certain product groups.

    KNB Notification

For goods containing encryption tools and components.

    Phytosanitary Certificate

For plant products and goods of plant origin.

    Registration Certificate

For medical devices, food products, and several other categories.

    Other Documents

Other compliance documents depending on product characteristics.

How We Determine Which Documents Are Needed

The client’s main question is: certificate or declaration? The product name is not enough to answer. We analyze purpose, composition, characteristics, and area of use, and only then determine the document type.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Does my product need a certificate of conformity?

It depends on the product type, purpose, and EAEU technical regulation category. Some goods require mandatory certification, some require declaration, and others are exempt. Tell us about your product, and we will determine the requirements.

What is the difference between a certificate and a declaration of conformity?

A certificate of conformity is issued by an accredited certification body. A declaration of conformity is adopted and registered by the applicant, either the manufacturer or importer. Both confirm compliance with technical regulations, but they have different legal status and apply to different product groups.

    What is an exemption letter?

An exemption letter confirms that a specific product is not subject to mandatory certification or declaration. It is obtained from an accredited certification body and is often requested by customs or buyers.

When is an SGR, a state registration certificate, required?

An SGR is required for certain food products, cosmetics, chemical substances, medical devices, and other categories defined by the Customs Union Commission. Without it, the goods will not pass customs clearance.

Can documents be prepared before the cargo arrives?

Yes, and we recommend doing exactly that. Many compliance documents can be started in advance, before the cargo arrives at customs. This helps avoid delays and extra costs caused by temporary storage downtime.
